Hi. I've been like crazy with the craft show all week, the last minute shopping, dinner preparations and everything else that this time of year brings with it. And tomorrow I´m leaving to Merida and then to Cancún for new years. So before I go I wanted to wish you all a happy day, a delicious dinner, and an awesome new year.

Hola(: He estado como loca con lo del bazar toda la semana, las compras de último minuto, las preparaciones para la cena y todo lo demás que esta época del año trae consigo. Y mañana me voy a Mérida y después a Cancún para año nuevo. Así que antes de irme quería desearles un muy feliz día, una cena deliciosa y un año nuevo perfecto.

Hi. So I thought it was time to share a little bit of what I do. In case you don´t know I´m an art student, and I just finished (yesterday) my 7th semester, so I have just one more and that´s it. I almost can't believe it...
I work mostly with textiles; fabrics, yarns and threads. All I can knit, embroider or sew. Text has been atached to my most recent work. Words that become textures, objects that want to tell a story through phrases that surround them and transform them visually. That´s what I want.

One of my projects for this semester was to create a serie of 25 dolls. Each one have a phrase embroidered that I took from my old journals, or just one that means a lot to me. They are made from some of my old cloth and some fabrics that I had.

Well, here are four of them.

Hola. Pensé que era tiempo de compartir un poco de lo que hago. En caso de que no sepan, soy estudiante de artes, y justo acabo de terminar (ayer) mi séptimo semestre, así que ya sólo me queda uno más. Casi no lo puedo creer...

Trabajo con textiles; telas, estambres e hilos, todo lo que se pueda tejer, bordar o coser. El texto se ha unido a mi trabajo más reciente, el decir con palabras que se vuelven texturas, objetos que quieren contar una historia através de frases que los envuelven y los transforman visualmente, eso es lo que quiero.

Uno se mis proyectos para este semestre fue hacer una serie de 25 muñecas. Cada una tiene bordada en la cara una frase que tomé de mis viejos diarios o que simplemente significa mucho para mi. Están hechas con retazos de mi ropa vieja y algunas telas.

Aquí están cuatro de las veinticinco.

It's been almost two weeks since my last post and it seems to me like forever. I´m happy that I'm almost done with my finals, I can´t wait to sleep again and to have a clean room.
Well I really should be reading now but I wanted to share this. Yes, Ying Gao creates these dresses that move with light! they work with light-sensitive sensors, they are really awesome and beautiful.

Han pasado casi dos semanas desde mi último post y me parece una eternidad. Estoy feliz de que ya casi termino con mis finales, no puedo esperar para volver a dormir y tener una habitación limpia otra vez.
Bueno, realmente debería estar leyendo ahora, pero quería compartir esto. Sí, Gao Ying crea estos vestidos ¡que se mueven con la luz!, funcionan con sensores sensibles a la luz, son realmente impresionantes y hermosos.

What's going on?

¿Qué está pasando?

I'm gonna be totally honest, this is really hard. I thought having a blog would be easier, but I feel really overwhelmed lately. I think we have been neglecting our blog (and our friendship). I'm in finals now, I go to school in the morning and right away I'm off to do my social service, and then I come home and I have tons of work to do. And these past days I've been really sad, because I recieved an e-mail telling me that there were no spaces left for the december craft show, and I was really counting on that...
Well, what can I do? but stop complaining and embrace the situation.

Voy a ser totalmente honesta, esto es muy difícil. Pensé que tener un blog sería más fácil, pero me siento muy abrumada últimamente. Creo que hemos estado descuidando nuestro blog (y nuestra amistad). Estoy en finales, voy a la escuela por la mañana y de inmediato me voy a hacer mi servicio social,  luego vuelvo a mi casa y tengo un montón de trabajo por hacer. Y éstos últimos días he estado muy triste, porque el fin de semanarecibí un correo diciéndome que ya no había espacios  el bazar de diciembre, y yo realmente estaba contando con eso ... (puse todos mis huevos en una canasta...eso dicen ¿no?:p)
Bueno, ¿qué puedo hacer? sino dejar de quejarme y aceptar la situación.
