Fabrics and ribbons (the thing about ribbons is that I need to get some matte ones because I'm over the shiny ones, so I'm using a piece of fabric instead :)
I'm afraid this isn't a proper tutorial and I'm not showing anything new, but I watched a movie the other day and the girl always fixes her hair with a ribbon and I thought "how cool and effortless!" So I got inspired and thought I'd share some things I've been wearing with my piece of fabric as a ribbon - I got it from a dress I bought a couple of years ago and asked for the leftover fabric when the store fixed the hemline for me, so now I have a matching ribbon and dress - .

The first is a simple top bun, but I really like it with a ribbon or piece of fabric wrapped around, I've worn it without a bow, just making a knot and letting the ends hang and I like it even more!

The second one is the easiest and cutest, put the ribbon through a hairband and when you make a side ponytail with it, the ends of the ribbon should be hanging at the sides, I tied them around a couple of times.

And the last one looks awesome with something more flashy! (I want to get a sequined headband, I lost one that had metal thingies :'( I divided the front part of my hair in three parts, pinned the middle of the ribbon secure at the roots and braided the hair along with the ribbon. I regularly took pieces of hair from around my hairline, like a kind of half french braid, but nothing very precise, I like it messy. Once I got to the other side y pinned the end of the braid along with the ribbon behind my ear. Done!

Have a lovely day!
¡Que tengan muy bonito día!

A hair tutorial inspired from these photographs
Un tutorial inspirado en estas fotografías

This may look to you as the most pointless hair tutorial in history -which it kind of is - because it is mostly a messy not very accurate hairstyle. But to be honest some people have asked my about the hair arrangements in my photo shoots before. Most of them are imperfect to say the least, and consist of braids, buns, some adornments and wavy hair.
I don't own any hair appliances or know much about hair care, and if I were to start using perfect hair in my photos it probably wouldn't be the hair that's normally considered perfect. But hey, my idea of great hair is more Queen Amidala and less Kim Kardashian (or regular famous people), than most people's.

Here's the method to the madness in 4 easy steps :) I'm trying this new method, the drawing method:

This is how the hair looks from the front. You can see the rest of the photographs here in my photography blog: Dig a Pony My model was of course Carmila and it was a short nice session. I've thought a little about doing a video of the make up tutorial for this look, but haven't quite gathered the courage to actually do it.

And this is how it looks from the back.
Have a great week everyone :D
Y así es como se ve por atrás.
Que tengan una bonita semana :D

 Hair
:: Cabellos ::

Last week, one of the guys that I work with (in the shop) asked me if I could make a drawing on a book with drawings an illustrations by a few artists an illustrators (all from cuernavaca and df I guessed) so I agreed. And when I was about to start drawing I realized that I haven't drawn for almost 6 months or so. O_o And then I remembered how much I enjoy drawing hair, and drawing in general, just for fun, without having to explain myself to noone(:

 (sorry for the blurry pictures :p)

So I thought I could shared my drawing and a little part of my process(;
I encourage you to rediscover those things that inspire you, but that for some reason you stopped doing them.

Así que pensé que podría compartirles mi dibujo y un poco de mi proceso(;

Have a beautiful day!
Que tengan un hermoso día(;

Hi again! I am done with the Daenerys Targaryen inspired hair tutorial and even though I am still struggling a little bit with the video bit, I am very happy with the photographs :p
If you don't know who Dany Targaryen is don't google her, go watch Game of Thrones now! It is one of my favorite tv series in the whole world, it is from HBO (of course), and I can promise you it is awesome. I've heard only great things from other people as well, even from someone I know hates fantasy themed stuff.

But anyway the main thing is, the tutorial isn't meant to be perfect. I love Dany's hairstyles and I like that they always look lived in, she's always doing things and riding through the desert so a perfect hairstyle would look out of place, just as it would in real life. I always prefer an intricate hairstyle to be a little uneven and have it be a little more casual.

My hair model was Vanessa (she's Carmila's sister), she is so pretty and I love her hair, she has the prettiest hair ever, and her new hair color suits her so well... and it is perfect for tutorials too, because of the length.

(This tutorial works well with or without bangs, if you have bangs just leave them out of the braid)

Here is the video for the Daenerys tutorial:

By the way the song at the beginning is my friend Ivan who was helping me record this, singing along to the ice-cream truck haha
And here is the previous video I did for the inside out braid so you can do the other one

I hope you guys like it and let me know what you think!
I'd like to do more Daenerys tutorials because she has so many cool looks!

Hi everyone! I want to share with you guys this mini tutorial.
I am currently preparing a Daenerys Targaryen (from Game of Thrones) inspired hair tutorial, but it has inside-out braids involved, and although a lot of people are familiar with them, I wasn't until recently, actually I didn't know how to do anything aside from regular or french braids :p

¡Hola!

Anyway, I always have a little trouble with photo hair tutorials so I made a little video:

I hope this was helpful :3
Espero que les haya servido

PS
Help!
This is my first video for Ponycat and it raises a question for me, is it uncomfortable to read the instructions in the video? I usually watch narrated tutorials, but I think I would die of shame if I were to record myself speaking in English, and it would be complicated anyway because I would either have to say everything twice or put in subtitles.
What do you think? What types of tutorials do you prefer?
I would love to hear what you think ;)
PD
¡Ayuda!

How to braid a 4 strand braid and what you can do with it

You will need:
Lo que necesitas:

Any braidable material, it can be either fabric, yarn, hair or lace, whatever you can think of! You can recycle old clothes that you don't wear anymore.
Just remember that you need four long pieces, how long? That depends on how long you want your braid to be. Think about the desired length of your braid and then double the size of the material (lengthwise).

*We did ours with different colors, so it'd be easier to follow, but you can do it with one color or with a pattern if you prefer (;
1. Tie all the pieces together, in this case the yarn in each color, and secure them with something (we recommend a safety pin)
2. Take the one in the far right (orange), over the one in the middle right (pink).
3. Take the middle left one (green), over the far left one (blue).
4. And the one in the new middle left (blue), over the new middle right one (orange).

*Nosotros lo hicimos con colores para que fuera más fácil de entender, pero lo puedes hacer de uno sólo o con un estampado si prefieres(;

5.  Repeat the last steps. Far right over the middle right, middle left over the far left, and new middle left over new middle right. (In colors that would be pink over blue, orange over green and green over pink)
* You have to repeat this steps until you reach your desired length.

* Tienes que repetir los mismos pasos hasta que tengas una trenza del largo que necesitas.
Done! You have a four strand braid (;
Now what can you use it for?

¡Listo! tienes una trenza de 4(;
Ahora, ¿qué puedes hacer con ella?

1. Use it as a hairband, simple and cute (;
1.- Puedes usarla como una valerina, simple y lindo(;

2. Use it as a belt, this is our favorite (:
2.- Puedes usarla como cinturón. Ésta es mi favorita(:

This was the braid I used for the dress I made, remember? If you don't you can see that post here (;
Ésta fue la trenza que usé de cinturón para mi vestido, ¿recuerdan?. Sino, lo pueden ver  aquí(;

3. Forget fabric and use your hair! Try doing this kind of braid in your hair and you'll see how you won't want to go back to 3 strand braids after that!

I hope you liked my little tutorial, it's simple, anyone can do it and I think it's very pretty (:

What do you think?
¿Ustedes que piensan?
