It's friday, yay! I'm so happy(: I made lots of cupcakes, some to sell at Celoffán and some to take to my sister's birthday party tonight. But before I go I wanted to share a little wishlist of things I found this past week. Hope you like these pretty things, I really do! I want them all <3

Last week, one of the guys that I work with (in the shop) asked me if I could make a drawing on a book with drawings an illustrations by a few artists an illustrators (all from cuernavaca and df I guessed) so I agreed. And when I was about to start drawing I realized that I haven't drawn for almost 6 months or so. O_o And then I remembered how much I enjoy drawing hair, and drawing in general, just for fun, without having to explain myself to noone(:

El otro día uno de los chicos con los que trabajo, me pidio que interviniera un libro en donde varias personas han dibujado también. Le dije que si, y cuando me disponía a empezar me di cuenta de que no había dibujado en casi 6 meses... ( tal vez más). Recordé cuanto disfruto dibujar cabello y dibujar en general, sólo por diversión y sin tener que justificar lo que hago con nadie(:

Este año que pasó

This year was a year of many changes for me. I graduated from college (visual arts) That was a pretty big change for me...

I started a small business of cupcakes and cakes with three of my friends from college.

Este año fue año de muchos cambios para mi. me gradué de la universidad (artes visuales). eso para empezar ha sido un gran cambio para mi...

Empecé un pequeño negocio de repostería junto con tres de mis amigas de la universidad.

 I started to "build" a home with my boyfriend and we broke up a few months ago...

Empecé a "construir"  un hogar con mi chico y hace unos meses nos separamos...

 Some artists and designers and I decided to open a small shop called "Celoffán". This is something that has been keeping me very busy these past few months and I've been wanting to write about it for some time. (I hope to do it soon, it's a nice project that makes me very happy :)

Algunos artistas y diseñadores y yo decidimos abrir una pequeña tienda en el centro llamada "Celoffán". Esto es algo que me ha tenido muy ocupada estos últimos meses y de lo que he querido escribir desde hace tiempo. (Espero hacerlo pronto, es un proyecto muy bonito que me ha hecho muy feliz:)

I knitted and crocheted new things, and I tried some new stitches(;

 I wrote and I received many letters from my penpals. And I also made some (real life) new friends(:

Escribí y recibí muchas cartas de mis amigas por correspondencia. Y también hice algunas amigos nuevos (de la vida real:p)

Five Small Things That Made Me Happy.

Cinco cosas que alegraron mi semana.

There were many good things that happened to me this week, I ran into some friends I hadn't seen in a while, birthdays, there was cake, good movies, but I took pictures of five small things that made me happy this week:

Hubo buenas cosas esta semana, me encontré con unos amigos que no veía desde hace mucho, hubo cumpleaños, pastel, buenas películas, pero tomé fotos de 5 cosas en particular que me hicieron feliz esta semana:

 My new necklaces from MyMi designs, I bought the one on the left which was taken from a real door! And Diego gave me the one of the right :D that's Spanish for 'Meow' of course!

 Diego and I got matching bracelets! I know it's cheesy but the bracelets are super pretty and apparently they're bronze. I also like our socks ha!

I love when Melocoton falls asleep with his tongue sticking out a little bit :p

Cupcakes, cakes, and other sweet things

First of all, thanks to all who congratulated me on my birthday post(:

Primero que nada, gracias a todas las que me felicitaron en mi cumpleaños, siempre me hace feliz leer comentarios y más si vienen en forma de felicitación. 

 
Well, today I´m here to tell you a little bit of another small business that truly came out of nowhere. As you may know (and in case you don't) I have a small "shop"called Cajita de albaricoque (little box of apricot), I started about three years ago. I sell things that I make with yarn, felt and fabric, mostly crocheted creatures. You can see some of the stuff here or on my facebook page.  

And I recently started another business with two of my friends, Sandra is one of them (who writes this blog with me). We started a photography , design and invitations bussines. You can also see some of that here and here.
But a few weeks ago, I was planning how to raise money for another project that I had in mind. Three friends (who went to college with me) and I, decided to enter a craftshow to sell cupcakes, cakes and other sweet things. So we created "Cocoa & Cinnamon" . We planned everything in a week or so and this past weekend we went to the craftshow. I really do not know where this is going, because a third "business" is not something I've thought I would be doing. But I really enjoyed planning the whole image I wanted the brand to have and I love that we recieved such a positive response from the people that tasted our desserts.

Pues hoy me paso rápido por aquí para contarles un poco de otro pequeño negocio que la verdad es que surgió de la nada. Como sabrán ( y por si no lo saben) tengo un negocio llamado Cajita de albaricoque, que empecé más o menos hace 3 años en donde vendo cositas que hago tejidas, de crochet y de fieltro, pueden ver algunas cosas aquí o en mi pagina de facebook. Y hace poco inicie otro negocio con dos de mis amigos, Sandra es una de ellos (quien escribe este blog conmigo). Empezamos un negocio de fotografía, diseño e invitaciones. También pueden ver un poco de eso aquì y aquí. 

Pero hace unas semanas, planeando como recaudar dinero para un proyecto que tengo desde hace tiempo en mente, 3 amigas (que fueron conmigo a la univerdad) y yo decidimos meternos a un bazar a vender cupcakes, pasteles y cosas por el estilo. De ahí surgió "Cocoa & Canela", todo lo planeamos en una semana y el fin pasado estuvimos en el bazar, realmente no se a donde vaya ir esto, porque un tercer "negocio" no es algo que tuviera pensado hacer, pero me gustó mucho hacerlo, planear toda la imágen que quería que tuviera y recbir una respues positiva de la gente cuando probaba nuestros postres. Aquí les dejo algunas fotos de nuestro stand en el bazar(;

I think someday (soon) I would like to write a post about my experience on selling handmade stuff, although I have a long way ahead of me, I think by now I've learned a thing or two, mostly about the craftshow experience.

I never want to be one of those people who hate their birthday. And as much as I been saying things like "26 years old...the horror", the truth is that I really love my birthday.

 Is the one day of the year in wich you can do (almost) whatever you please. You don´t have to wash the dishes (yay!). You get to eat your favorite food and eat cake like crazy. You recieve congratulations from lots of people and facebook strangers... just for the sake of being alive one more year. And if you're very lucky you can spend this day with all your loved ones.( and lets not forget the gifts part  ;) 
So, if you are lucky like me and you can have all this in one day, I don't see what is not to like about your birthday?

Ya decidí que no quiero ser nunca una de esas personas que odian su cumpleaños. Y por más que haya estado diciendo cosas como : "Que horror cumplir 26...no me hablen de eso". La verdad es que me di cuenta de que en verdad me encanta mi cumpleaños.

Es el único día al año en el que puedes hacer (casi) lo que tengas ganas de hacer. No tienes que lavar platos (¡yey!).  Puedes comer tu comida favorita y también comer muchísimo pastel. Recibes felicitaciones de muchas personas y hasta extraños en facebook...por el simple hecho de haber vivido un año más. Y si tienes mucha suerte, puedes pasar el día con las personas que más quieres(; (¡y no olvidemos la parte de los regalos!).

Así que si tienes tanta suerte como yo :p No veo que es lo que la gente (con suerte) odia de los cumpleaños...

DIY: Lace Ring

I love all our DIY posts, mainly because most of them are done by Carmila, and I'm amazed at all the crafts she makes and I can't do most of them by myself. This one is one of my very favorites so simple and pretty.

 I had no idea how to make this beautiful braid before and it looks super cute on anything. And I also liked seeing the pictures beacuse Carmila has long hair and makes me feel how time has passed ha!

Carmila always makes great choices, and her selection of pictures on this particular post is one of my faves (just look at the photo above!!)

Los posts de fotografía son los que más destacan para mi cuando leo posts. Desde fotos tomadas por los bloggers hasta  buenas selecciones de fotos encontradas, me encantan. Did I ever tell you about the Correspondence Club? Well, it all started a few months ago, when I discovered Nnenna's blog, Starcrossedsmile. She was starting a correspondence club, all I had to do was send her a e mail telling her I wanted to be part of it, so I did. She was my partner for the first few months, but as the club started to grow, she decided we should change partners every three months, this way we get to meet more people. I´m so happy I join the club, there's (almost) nothing that makes me happier than finding a letter in the mail(:

¿Alguna vez les he hablado del Club de Correspondencia? Bueno, todo empezó hace unos meses, cuando descubrí el blog de Nnenna, Starcrossedsmile. Ella estaba empezando un club de correspondencia, todo lo que tenía que hacer era mandarle un correo diciéndole que quería ser parte de el. Así que lo hice. Ella fue mi pareja de correspondencia los primeros meses, pero conforme empezó a crecer el club decidió que ibamos a cambiar de pareja cada tres meses, así podríamos conocer a más personas. Estoy muy feliz de haberme unido al club de correspondencia, no hay (casi) nada que me haga más feliz que encontrar una carta en el buzón(:

I encourage you to take a pen, sit on your desk with a piece of lemon pie (optional) and write a letter to a stranger. I swear you won´t regret it(; Join a correspondence club! (and feel the magic of the ink :p)

Hello again!

It's Sunday and I wanted to blog, but I realized I have hard time with spontaneous blogging, it may be because I usually take photographs and have to wait for daytime if I get an idea at night, but it is mostly because I get a bit embarrassed with my personal and pointless blogging. I feel like if anyone is reading this out there, I may be wasting your time with uninteresting things.

Es domingo y tenía ganas de escribir un post, pero luego me di cuenta que me cuesta mucho trabajo bloggear espontáneamente, tal vez sea porque si se me ocurre algo en la noche me tengo que esperar hasta el día siguiente para tomar fotos, pero también es porque me da un poco de pena hacer posts muy personales y sin mucho propósto. Siento que si alguién esta leyendo esto estaría perdiendo un poco su tiempo con cosas poco interesantes.

So, as a personal challenge to myself I decided to blog about something I like, and I hope it can inspire someone to do publicly something they like. I know I have been super inspired by Meredith from One Sheepish Girl (who does something great, called blogging for confidence), she is super shy and her blog is lovely and everyone who reads her is happy that she decided to show herself to the world :)

Así que como un reto personal decidí hacer un post de algo que me gusta y espero que alguien se inspire para hacer públicamente algo que les guste. A mi me ha inspirado muchísimo Meredith de One Sheepish Girl (hace algo llamado "blogging for confidence" que es algo así como bloggear para tener más valor y confianza en si misma), es super penosa y su blog esta precioso y todos los que la leemos estamos felices de que haya decidido mostrarse al mundo :)

Ok all of that sounded super epic, but it is really not. Here it is: I love make up.

A couple of years ago I didn't even wear mascara and now I get excited to put a little something on, every morning. I don't do much really, because one of the reasons I didn't use to wear make-up is that I hate badly done or overdone make up. I love a natural look, but since I follow a lot of YouTube channels of girls that do make up tutorials I wanted to try takings some pictures of the process (and it wouldn't be a challenge if I didn't feel completely embarrassed right??)

Ok todo eso suena super épico, pero para nada. Aquí va: Me gusta mucho el maquillaje (no me gusta la palabra maquillaje)

Hace un par de años no usaba ni siquiera máscara de pestañas, ahora me emociona ponerme algo todas las mañanas.  No hago mucho en realidad, porque una de las razones por las que no usaba maquillaje antes, era que veo a mucha gente que usa demasiado o no lo usa correctamente. Me gusta mucho que se vea natural, pero como sigo muchos canales de YouTube de chicas que hacen tutoriales quise intentar tomar algunas fotos del proceso (y no sería un reto si no me diera muchisisma pena no?)

No estoy segura como empecé a ver tutoriales, pero ahora soy super adicta y amo a algunas de las niñas que sigo, son super lindas y sus videos me inspiran mucho. No es para todos, pero la inspiración viene de cualquier lugar. Me gusta cuando la gente me enseña que los inspira ;)

These are a few things that have come into my life and I think they are awesome!

Above is a very old Scribe notebook (they don't make them like that anymore): Carmila bought it for me and covered it with this cute fabric. I love it, and the flower on top was kept and given to me by a very good friend as well :)

  I bought an album frame in New York, and now I regret not buying more! I have it on my wall currently displaying U2's October cover.

 My Catryoshka t-shirt!!! It is my new favorite t-shirt (along with my wolf t-shirts of course). It is the perfect color, I adore Matryoshkas and I don't need to mention my love for all cat things.

¡¡Mi camiseta de Catryoshkas!! Es mi nueva camiseta favorita (junto con mis camisetas de lobos). Es del color ideal, me encantan las Matryoshkas y creo que sobra decir que me amo las cosas de gatos.

My cute cat measuring cups ♥ So many people have asked me about them. I bought them at Urban Outfitters. And yes I am a little terrified of breaking them.

 If I lived in the US, (or anywhere with a wider variety of magazines) I would consider myself lucky and unlucky. I bought Lula (finally!!! I hate having to read it online), Japanese Elle, Vogue and a magazine called Cinematic. They are great, but cost a lot of money. I would be super poor.

Si viviera en Estados Unidos (o en cualquier lugar con una mayor variedad de revistas), me consideraria afortunada y desafortunada. Compré Lula (por fin!!!! odio tener que leerla en linea), las ediciones japonesas de Vogue y Elle, y una revista que se llama Cinematic. Me gustan mucho, pero cuestan mucho también. Sería super pobre.

I wear this American Eagle necklace almost every day and my friend Ivan told me he thinks it looks like a bunch of black or raspberries, and I love that :)

I am obsessed with the Penguin classic editions (aren't we all?) and I've had Wuthering Heights (because it's my favorite book) for a couple of years but now I have three more! 

Estoy obsesionada con las ediciones clásicas de Penguin (¿no lo estamos todos?), y he tenido Cumbres Borrascosas por un par de años porque es mi libro favorito, pero ahora tengo otros tres!

 This beautiful fabric-covered box (where I now keep my small treasures), is beyond great and my friend Rapha gave it to me after he found it in New York in... (drum-roll please!): The garbage. Yup. And that was not the only awesome thing we took out of the garbage during our trip. This box was practically new, what is wrong with people!!!! But yay for me :D

Esta hermosa caja forrada en tela (donde ahora guardo mis pequeños tesoros), es lo mejor y mi amigo Rapha me la regaló después de encontrarla en Nueva York en.... (pausa dramatica): La basura. Sip. Y esa no fue la única cosa buena que encontramos durante el viaje dentro de la basura. Esta caja esta practicamente nueva, que le pasa a la gente!? Pero que bien por mi :D
